A solid week of training in the books! I had my longest run so far (14 miles) and had a good track workout in the middle of the week. I have to admit- I ended the week with some doubts about my training. I felt behind. Like I needed to be running more and at a faster pace. Lance again reminded me that the goal is to get to the start line healthy and my training very much considers my season of still being in the midst of raising these little boys.
I am again reminded how I need to trust in deeper ways on the run and in my life. I need to trust in the training Lance has thoughtfully put together for me. I need to trust that things will all come together in God’s perfect timing. Ultimately I need to compare less and stay more focused on the type of training that works for ME and my season of life.
Mileage: 34 miles spread across 4 days
Cross-Training: Two 30-minute Peloton rides
Workout: 4 x mile repeats on the track with equal recovery. Mile splits: 5:54, 5:52, 5:53, 5:57. I felt strong and good on these miles. It was not a hands on my knees type of workout, but I felt controlled. I want my legs to feel like sub-6 pace is easy and not a big deal. This workout was also good for building mental toughness as Hudson and Thatcher kept screaming for me and trying to grab my hand. It was (mostly) fun having them be a part of this workout.

Long Run: 14 miles @ 7:56 average pace. I would like this average pace to start going down for my long runs. Overall, a good long run. Definitely got a little bored being out there by myself, but listening to Forest Frank and looking out at the beautiful ocean views helped.
This week I also registered for transportation and bib pick up for the race. Things are definitely starting to feel more real. Less than 11 weeks to go!
